Habersham Plantation is located south of downtown Savannah just south of Hwy 204 and Georgetown and prides itself on a peaceful and private 55 and older community for adults. Nestled on the Grove River, Habersham Plantation is a collection of custom homebuilders with large estate style lots and homes built by the areas leading custom homebuilders. The city and the plantation in general takes great care in keeping the pristine nature of the area so that people can enjoy this environment for years to come.

Habersham Plantation offers three types of properties: Lakefront, Lakeview, or lake access. Having a lakefront home means you are right on the water. Your property borders the lake so you can get up each morning and dip your toes right in the water out in front of your home. A Lakeview home offers stunning views of the lake even if your home does not border the lake or river itself. Water access properties have easy access to the lake or river but it might be a short walk or drive. Whether you are building your home and looking for the perfect home site or looking for an existing home in this community, Habersham Plantation offers both at a variety of prices. Lodz and parcels of land started about $50,000 depending on the size. There’s larger lots of over three or 4 acres available so finding that perfect privacy is well within your reach.

Habersham Plantation is about 15 minutes up Grove Point Road to shops, restaurants, attractions and local events in downtown Savannah and Georgetown. Markets and daily necessities are also within close proximity although it is within driving distance and not a comfortable walk.

Grove Point Road dead ends about a mile south of Habersham Plantation entrance so there is very little traffic to deal with and most off-shoots of Grove Point such as Grove Point Island Rd and Shore Rd also end at the river. Several of the newer homes or existing homes range in price from $400,000 to over $1 million depending on condition and design.

Easthaven at Savannah Quarters

Easthaven at Savannah Quarters

Easthaven is located in the master planned community of Savannah Quarters just outside of Savannah Georgia and Pooler Georgia. This active adult and family orientated community offers a variety of single and multi-family homes and townhomes.  Three distinct micro-neighborhoods make up the master planned community of Easthaven built by world renowned architects K. Hovnanian Homes® and Centex®.  These neighborhoods include The Gates, Hamilton Grove, and Berkeley Walk Townhomes.Easthaven Savannah Quarters

  The Gates offers five distinct floor plans each with diverse exterior and elevation options. Built by K. Hovnanian Homes®, these home start at about $220,000 and offer three and four bedroom layouts from 2000 ft.².  There are currently new homes for sale and move-in ready homes built between 2007 and 2012.

 Hamilton Grove also offers a variety of single-family properties price from about $250,000. This community features a nature trail woven throughout the neighborhoods connecting communities and subdivisions. Easthaven is located on the north side of Quacco Road.  It is not gated but still offers a non-through street community. Berkeley Walk Townhomes is just down a little further and The Gates is a little farther down Gateway DR, which winds back out to Pooler Parkway.

Thunderbolt Georgia Homes and Real Estate

Thunderbolt is a small community just east of downtown Savannah surrounding Victory Drive or GA Route 80. It covers a small section on the west and east side of the Wilmington River and is just north of the Savannah State University. Located in Chatham County, this small community has a population of roughly 2700 residents but is still part of the Savannah Metro area. It runs along the western shore of the Wilmington River and is important to the shrimping industry with many docks perfect for shrimping trawlers. This picturesque waterfront town offers a variety of seafood restaurants and tourist traps.

History –

This small town owes its name to a legend of a lightning strike that created a freshwater spring on the Wilmington bluff. Native Americans were the first settlers to this area. This important piece of Georgia history evolved into a shipping point for local plantation needs and was ideal for river traffic. In 1856, the town was incorporated and began its history as a processing port for the fishing community. It also is known for being a college town due to its close proximity to Savannah State University. Today, Thunderbolt remains a unique community in the Savannah Metro area with distinct residential areas rich in history and perfect for anyone looking for a small town, seafood-loving village.

Parks and Rec –

Thunderbolt offers three distinct parks, which are open to the public. Two are located along Wilmington River and one along Falligant Ave.  All three can schedule certain events but reservations must be at least two weeks in advance. The Nelly Johnson Park is located on the corner of Cedar Street and Falligant Ave and offers playground equipment, basketball courts, covered picnic areas and restrooms.  W.E. Honey Park is located at the far end of Mechanics Avenue and is perfect for a waterfront park on the river, outdoor eating, entertainment and is fully equipped for fishing, boating, and provides a playground and restrooms. Thompson Park is located off River Drive across from Town hall and the Harbour condominium community. It provides an outdoor eating pavilion and a scenic view of the Wilmington River.

Real Estate –

Thunderbolt has a wide variety of homes and real estate from which to choose, priced anywhere from $100,000-$500,000.  Beautiful waterfront condominiums, single-family homes, and duplexes are spread throughout this community. There’s usually something for everyone in every price range located in Thunderbolt Georgia.
