Homes and Lifestyle in Bloomingdale Georgia

Bloomingdale Georgia is located in Chatham County just outside of Savannah and west of Pooler. With a population of about 2700 residents, Bloomingdale is bordered to the northeast by Port Wentworth, to the east by Pooler, to the southeast by Savannah and to the north by Effingham County. This great location allows for an easy commute to and from Savannah along I-16 or Highway 80. Highway 17 runs north and south from 80 to I16 (Hwy 404).Homes and Lifestyle in Bloomingdale Georgia

Bloomingdale was incorporated in 1974 and covers 13.2 mi.². The majority of town centers south of Highway 80 and further south are ideal plots of land for custom building or larger acreages.

The median price in Bloomingdale is about $139,900 with a median price per square foot at $79. At any given time there’s roughly 20 to 50 properties for sale in the smaller community priced from $50,000-$450,000. Larger plots of land, ranches and farms tend to run upwards of $500,000. The average listing price is about $182,000.

Bloomingdale has a small collection of shops, restaurants, their own Bloomingdale Police Department, churches, schools, and a small residential neighborhood right in town. Middle schools and high schools must be bussed in and out of Bloomingdale but the Bloomingdale elementary school is located right in town. The residents are served by the Savannah-Chatham County public school system and utilize the new Hampstead High School. There are homes built between 1950 and 2010 with a wide variety of price ranges, layouts, and lot sizes.

The city limits run as far north as Godley Road and as far south as the new Hampstead High School. Ottawa Farms is a local favorite located on Highway 17 between the two freeways and offer strawberry picking, blackberry and blueberry picking, organic Angus beef, a general store, and pumpkin patch festivities in October.

Savannah Georgia is less than 30 minutes away, and the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is less than 20 minutes from downtown Bloomingdale. The majority of residents travel to Pooler for markets and a wider variety of restaurants and shops but for a country town that provides just about everything anyone would need, Bloomingdale makes a great location. Start your online search here or call me for a list of all the current properties for sale in this community that match your search criteria and price. Image from actual MLS listing

Pooler Condos and Townhomes

June 21, 2013 by Helen Miltiades

Pooler Condos and Townhomes

Considering buying a townhome or condominium either as a first time purchase or just for that low maintenance lifestyle? There are several choices in Pooler Georgia. Whether you’re looking for a simple one story condominium or a two-story home that resembles more of a single-family house, there are several options starting at affordable prices close to $100,000.Pooler Condos and Townhomes

Winter Lake Circle offers several beautiful two bedroom and three baths townhomes of around 1300 ft.² in size. Many of these properties start at about $120,000 and feature gas fireplace, wood flooring, beautifully updated kitchens, and the majority of appliances included. Sonata Circle is also a great location close to schools and parks with a community pool and secured neighborhoods. These three bedroom and three bath homes are around 1300 ft.² in size and feature multi-level living with second floor master bedroom.

Cottage Square Homes and Townhomes is a brand-new community located just off Pine Barren road and Pooler Parkway. These homes start at about $120,000 and feature two and three bedroom floor plans of around 1200 ft.². The community offers a beautiful pool and fitness center with a detached one car garage per unit.

Savannah Quarters is a unique addition to the Pooler landscape with beautiful two-story condominiums and townhomes located just off Pooler Parkway and Interstate 16. This provides quick access to shops, markets and restaurants close by.

One of the best things about owning a townhome is the ease of maintenance. Most landscaping and exterior maintenance is handled by your Homeowners Association dues. These fees can range anywhere from $50 a month to several hundred dollars per year depending on the location and the amount of work required each month. Many communities, such as the ones listed above, offer community swimming pools, playgrounds, fitness centers and a clubhouse.

Townhomes and condos are ideal for retirees or first-time homebuyers looking to ease into the responsibility of homeownership. If any of these condos or townhomes seems like something in which you would be interested, feel free to call me anytime for a personal tour of current listings for sale.

Georgetown Georgia | Lifestyle and Community, Homes and Real Estate

Georgetown is located in Chatham County Georgia and is considered a census designated place or CDP.  It has 12,000 residents and sits across the Forest River from Savannah. Considered a suburban bedroom community of Savannah, there are a lot of downtown employees residing in this community.Georgetown GA homes and real estate

Georgetown is easily accessible along Abercorn Street just west of the Southside neighborhood and at the end of the Veterans Parkway or Interstate 516. You can reach Georgetown by I-95 or state route 17 from downtown.  It’s on the border of the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the historic bamboo Farm, which is a beautiful 51-acre site serving the entire coastal Empire and South Carolina low country with stunning water features, thousands of bamboo forests, and beautiful gardens.

Georgetown services to schools: the Georgetown elementary and the Southwest Chatham Middle School. Those in high school attend the Windsor Forest High School located in Savannah.

Most of the homes in Georgetown were constructed between the 1970s and 1980s, but newer subdivisions are popping up each year. Property prices in Georgetown run the gamut from a $150,000 single detached homes and town houses to over $1.4 million estates right on the river. Beautiful subdivisions along Grayson Avenue start at about $190,000 for three and four bedroom units built within the last 5 to 10 years. These brick homes offer one or two level layouts with two car garages and larger lots.

Georgetown also offers some beautiful historical homes with generous layouts of four and five bedrooms such as those at Windsor on the Marsh for around $600,000. Beautiful estate homes on larger acreage started about $700,000 and yet you can always find a small, 1000 square-foot home that provides two or three bedrooms perfect for first-time homebuyers for around $120,000.

You can see that the variety is endless and this is a great location for those looking for a slower pace of life but still easily connected to downtown Savannah and surrounding communities.
