Hosting the Thanksgiving meal at your home can become a long time tradition that family and friends will look forward to each and every year. You can make the items you use for decoration extra special by creating unique embellishments to everyday decor. This will not only save you money on decorating, your guests will see just how much you appreciate them visiting your home for the holidays!
Dress Up the Place Settings
One of the easiest ways to dress up the entire kitchen or dining room to welcome your guests for Thanksgiving is to have the table set before their arrival. No matter how you serve your meal, a table of beautiful place settings complete with a centerpiece is a must!
In place of paper napkins, use fall colored cloth napkins and finish off with a unique napkin ring. Place the embellished napkins on the top of the each place setting. It’s very easy to go from ordinary to spectacular by adding a little something extra to the settings!
Beautify Wine or Cider Bottles
A common beverage found around the table on Thanksgiving is wine. Make the wine bottles stand out by wrapping a piece of linen or cloth around the center of the bottle and attach at each end with hot glue. Then wrap with craft twine and finish off by attaching a piece of wheat to the front. Keep in mind this is meant for wines that are served at room temperature or that can be kept in the refrigerator. Placing in an ice bucket will ruin the embellishment.
Another way to embellish a wine or cider bottle is to tie holiday colored ribbon to the neck of the bottle. Using multiple colors will enhance an uninteresting wine bottle.
Provide a Unique Menu
Once you have decided on all of the trimmings for your Thanksgiving meal, put it on paper! Typing your menu into a word document will give you the option to customize the fonts, text size, and colors. Print it and place it in either a 5 x 7 or an 8 x 10 picture frame.
Add 3 wheat stalks tied with ribbon to the picture frame to complete your one of a kind Thanksgiving menu.
