4th of July Events in Savannah Georgia 2013
There are lots of great events happening around Savannah Georgia this year for the Fourth of July or Independence Day. Savannah always celebrates in grand style down on River Street with arts and crafts, fantastic food, musical stages, shops and boutiques, and of course the fireworks over the river at about 9:30 PM.
Savannah’s Riverfront is always the best place to be July 4 through the seventh starting Thursday with bands beginning at 8:30 PM. Friday enjoy three different bands, Keith and Ross, the Sh*tkickers, and Chuck Courtenay. Bands start playing at 3 PM, 6 PM and 8:30 PM. Then on Saturday enjoy three different artists at 3:30 PM, 6 PM and 8:30 PM starting with The Potitions, Domino Effect and Nickel Bag of Funk. Finally on Sunday at 1 PM enjoy eclectic sounds from Magic Rocks.
Savannah’s best sightseeing tour the Old Town Trolley will offer local tips and the best places to watch the fireworks this Fourth of July. River Street is one of the most popular destinations and Fort McAllister Historic Park is also a great way to spend the fourth.
Savannah also offers a Fourth Of July Riverboat Cruise. This unique adventure is a 1 ½ hour cruise with music, fantastic food and a spectacular view of the waterfront fireworks display. Boarding starts at 8 PM and returns around 10:30 PM. Adults are $32.95 and children are $25.95.
Other events going on throughout the day on July 4 is a free tasting at the low country gourmet foods on Broughton Street where you can enjoy complimentary tastings of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavored with locally-made ice cream.
