Savannah summers: Bringing the City Outdoors

Now that summer is in full swing, people in Savannah turn their sights outdoors. Whether that means

Perhaps that is why so many folks here flock to the ball park to watch Savannah’s own Baseball team take to the diamond. The Savannah Sand Gnats are our own New York Mets affiliate ball club. These A league boys are definitely fun to watch. Many a Sand Gnat has played his heart out for this town in an effort to draw the attention of the Major league club. A good many have made it to the top too! But along the way, they enjoyed some great Southern hospitality in a town that takes sports seriously!

The Sand Gnats play their home games at historic and lovely Grayson Stadium. With a seating capacity of 4,000, you know that every game here has a family flavor. There are fun antics featured in games all through the season and the 300 square foot video board allows you to argue calls right alongside the managers as the night progresses.

There is something quite American about baseball, and Sand Gnats baseball is a purely Southern experience, especially since the club opened Land Shark Landing in 2010. Imagine taking in 9 innings seated on brand new furniture with umbrellas and sampling some of the liquid refreshment available right inside the park from the Shocktop Bar. Best of all, there is a full picnic menu for groups of 20 or more. It makes for a fun family night or even an office outing that everyone will remember for years to
come!

Once the game is over, stick around to take part in the lively night life. Savannah is known for its great music, friendly people and exciting night spots. It is no wonder that people come from all around the United States to be a part of the excitement in Savannah.
