The Pine Gardens neighborhood is located just south of President Street or the Islands Expressway and East of Pennsylvania Avenue covering a distance of about .4 mi.² and home to roughly 2300 residents. It’s bordered by the neighborhoods of the Savannah Gardens and Twickenham. The East side of the community is mainly industrial and commercial businesses while the neighborhoods are located on the West side of the area.
This is an extremely affordable place to live but one of the more up and coming neighborhoods in Savannah. Home prices average about $32,000 and the median sales price is about $41,000. The majority of homes in Pine Gardens were built between 1970 and 1980 with very few of them being 1940s or earlier and just a few new construction homes built in the last 10 years. This makes an ideal location for easy commuting to downtown Savannah and the Islands. It is a great community for families with high school students since the Savannah High School sits adjacent to this neighborhood.
The Savannah Golf Club, a private and member-owned club since 1794, is located just west of Pine Gardens.
Most of the homes in Pine Gardens are between one and three bedrooms with layouts from 800 to 1500 ft.². These homes are great for first-time homebuyers looking to start small and build up. Most of the homes due to their age are set on larger lots so you’ll have a nice front and maybe even a backyard with mature landscaping and forested neighborhoods.
