Easter In and Around Savannah

It’s that time of year again, Cadbury eggs in grocery stores, yellow peeps on the shelves. It is Easter and that means springtime is just around the corner with crocuses blooming, daffodils in front lawns and the sound of lawnmowers starting up for the spring and summer season. Here’s what’s going on around Savannah and surrounding neighborhoods and towns this Easter weekend:Easter In and Around Savannah

LifeBridge Church is holding their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the historic Grayson Stadium on the corner of Victory and Skidaway. They partner with Savannah Sand Gnats and Chick-Fil-A. This is a free event and features live music and fun for the whole family.

In Pooler, there’s an Easter egg hunt at 900 South Rogers St. on Saturday, April 19 at 9 AM and 10 AM. There are two separate egg hunts and this is a free event. Put on by the city of Pooler and the First Presbyterian Church, they will be held at the West Chatham YMCA soccer field.

Richmond Hill will be celebrating at New Beginnings Community Church located at the JF Gregory Park on April 19 with a lineup starting at 10:30 AM and egg hunt at 11 AM.  Search with over 4000 other participants for 30,000 eggs hidden all over the park. This will be a fun event with food, entertainment, games and pictures with the Easter Bunny.  Again, this is a free event.

Back in Savannah there will be an Easter eggstravaganza at 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Georgia State Railroad Museum located at 655 Louisville Rd. Enjoy train rides, egg hunt, springtime crafts and activities. The cost is $5 per adult and $15 per child.

April 16-18, from 10 AM to 8 PM at the Oglethorpe Mall, located at 7804 Abercorn Extension, will be a chick hatchery in the Macy’s Court near the Easter Bunny. Families and kids of all ages can enjoy all these new baby chickens emerging from their eggs and will get to hold a newly-hatched chick. This is also a free event by the Chatham County Cooperative Extension.

Whatever you plan on doing this weekend, make sure you do it with someone you love, friends and family, and enjoy all that spring and Easter means to you.
