Oatland Island Wildlife Center   – Savannah Georgia

Located at 711 San Town Rd. in Savannah Georgia is the beautiful Oatland Island Wildlife Center . This is a Center for conservation, education and discovery nestled against the wilderness and nature preserves of Savannah Georgia. Oatland Island Wildlife Center  provides quality learning with the highest standards in animal care and provides an engaging environment for locals and guests.

There are three distinct discovery centers at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center , the Wolf Wilderness, predators of Georgia and birds of prey. The wolf wilderness includes the gray wolf, the southern flying squirrel, armadillo and tortoises, snakes and geckos. The predator exhibit includes cougars, bobcats and red foxes and birds of prey include several owls, bald eagle and hawks. In addition to these three major discovery centers there’s also the Georgia farm with farm animals Oatland Island Wildlife Center – Savannah Georgialike chickens, donkeys and sheep, the host animals such as the American bison and white tailed deer and several exhibits in the main building such as turtle and snake exhibits, the American alligator and the Coastal Georgia Aquarium.

The Oatland Island Wildlife Center  is open 361 days a year and only closed on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Adults are just $5 admission and children 4 to 17 are $3 with children under three being free. There’s also student, military and senior discounts.

While you’re visiting the wildlife center grab lunch at Wiley’s Championship Barbecue or bring your own legends at one of the picnic tables surrounding the center. In addition to lunch there’s also summer camps for kindergarten through eighth grade. They will discover a world of science with hands-on activities, crafts and investigations as well as nature trails and observation.

The wildlife center also makes for great place for parties and birthdays. Birthdays include a 30 minute animal program, barnyard displays, access to the center and a three-hour room rental. Visit their website for more information on birthdays and parties.
