Savannah is one of the Best Cities for Hipsters
Are you one of those people that stay up with the latest trends and fashion designs? The term hipster refers to young, urban and middle-class adults from the 1990s that tend to stand with independent music, nonmainstream fashion sensibility and progressive trends. It’s a melting pot of styles, tastes and behaviors and finding a community that fits all of that can be challenging. But Savannah has come in #11 on travelandleisure.com as America’s best city for hipsters. These trendy Georgians have come in the top five for being friendly and #3 for ‘pride of their city’.
“You can mingle with local hipsters at the Seed Eco Lounge, which has a bamboo-topped bar, organic libations, and cocktail tables recycled from an old barn.” [Source]
Savannah has also come in number seven with practically a perfect score of having one of the best cocktail hours and nightlife in the country. (New Orleans came in as number one) with our trendy coffee shops, eclectic bars and night scenes, hipsters can always find something trending to do, see and experience. According to the U.S. News & World Report, Savannah was ranked 15th in a list of the best nightlife scenes in the US. This is pretty good stuff considering that the 14 cities before Savannah were some of the largest in the country such as Las Vegas, New York and LA.
Savannah has a plethora of big city living, jazz bars, trendy tapas restaurants and chic living options. One of the major hotspots in downtown Savannah right on the water is Rocks on the Roof. This lively atmosphere creates either a packed weekend or a more casual weekday entertainment option. Located at 102 West Bay St. in downtown Savannah, Rocks on the Roof feature live music, hotel and bar and trendy hotspot on Savannah’s Riverfront and the Bohemian Hotel. With spectacular views of the river, gentle breezes during the summer and garage style doors that open creating multiple spaces, this urban delight offers extensive selections of drinks, small bites and custom martinis.
In addition to Savannah’s nightlife there’s plenty of lofts, studio apartments and condominiums for sale in Savannah’s Historic North District. This is a great neighborhood for walk-ability with a 95 WalkScore to shops, coffee stands, restaurants, outdoor places, grocery stores, art galleries and entertainment.
