Halloween is a special time for your little ones, especially here in Savannah!  Our area is well known for so many reasons, one of them being the variety of unique family friendly events that are always happening here!

One of these Halloween events is the Halloween Hike, a fun, safe, not-so-scary event for your little trick-or-treaters.  It takes place at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center of Savannah this weekend, October 19-20, 2012, from 5:00pm – 8:30pm.

Get your trickster dressed up in their best costume and walk down a friendly forest trail to meet and gather goodies from friendly animal characters and sit with Mother Goose as she tells her favorite ryhmes.  There will also be face painting, spooky crafts, pony rides and many more activities to celebrate Halloween!

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for this unique and fun event, and remember that children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Oatland Island Wildlife Center of Savannah is home to so many other events throughout the year and are excited to host Savannah Children’s Museum’s Imagination Playground exhibit, an interactive, transformable environment that prompts children of all ages to create an ever-evolving play space with loose parts.  This unique, mobile exhibit addresses a broader spectrum of play needs through socio-cooperative play.  Join them on the following Tuesdays from 10am-4pm:

October 30
November 13
November 27
December 11

You don’t need to wait for these dates to visit the Wildlife Center, as they are open from 10am-5pm everyday!  With so much to do there, you’re little ones (and you) are sure to have a fun (yet educational) time learning about and interacting with the animals.
